Star Wars Movies Being Released Starting in 2022

Disney moves 'Avatar' sequels, announces new 'Star Wars' films

Disney announces 3 new 'Star Wars' films

"The Rise of Skywalker" will be the fifth film in saga released since December 2015. The Gatherers guide those who seek their assistance in creating their own unique, customized lightsaber at Savi's Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Will everything move over to Disney+?

But Disney will take a break The Rise of Skywalker.

World Premiere of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" - Arrivals - Los Angeles, California, U.S., 09/12/2017 - Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger and actress Daisy Ridley.

Check out the Disney release date schedule below also featuring untitled Marvel movies.

The next Star Wars film after The Rise Of Skywalker is set to hit theaters December 16, 2022.

There's a lot to speculate with this information. That includes four films produced by Disney that have made almost $5 billion at the worldwide box office since 2015. It's possible these new films are exclusively Johnson's, exclusively Benioff and Weiss's, or a combination of the two.

However, Kennedy also added, "And we're taking the time to really look at where this is going from the standpoint of a saga". The Black Widow prequel film has already cast some lead roles. Noah Hawley's rumored Doctor Doom perhaps?

Considering that Disney now own the rights to the X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four, don't be surprised to see some of those taking up those slots. The long-held New Mutants film is the only one with a release date. Among early 2020 titles are Fox's Underwater on January 10, a new Kingsman movie on February 14, and Call of the Wild on February 21, followed by Pixar's Onward on March 6 and Disney's Mulan on March 27.

Starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Oona Chaplin, David Thewlis, Kate Winslet, Giovanni Ribisi, Edie Falco and Stephan Lang, Avatar 2, with its budget of $450 million, arrives (at the moment) on December 17, 2021.

The remaining four films in the Avatar franchise are filming back-to-back now with James Cameron returning as director. The last one will apparently come out in December 2027, nearly a decade from now.

Live-action filming on the sequels then started in New Zealand this spring.

After acquiring 21st Century Fox earlier this year, Disney is revealing the lineup of films slated to be released between the two movie powerhouses and it's.a lot. But thankfully, there's plenty more to come.
