Matthijs De Ligt has taken a decision over a potential move to Manchester United.

His current Ajax team-mate, Frenkie de Jong, will be playing for Barcelona next season, so it will not be shocking if De Ligt opts to move to the Nou Camp as well.

However, according to the Daily Star, cited by Sports Mole, de Ligt won't be moving to Manchester after rejecting the chance to move to Old Trafford on a five-year deal.

His performances in Europe's elite competition for the Dutch side have turned the heads of a host of top clubs in Europe, including those at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are said to have offered a £60 million bumper deal to sign the 19-year-old defensive sensation.

And Muhren thinks a switch to Barca makes sense and has urged United to concentrate on other targets as they look to turn their fortunes around. De Ligt can play in any team.

No interest in joining Manchester United. Various sources cited that Ed Woodward and Solskjaer were keen on Kalidou Koulibaly and Milan Skriniar, but the lack of Champions League football would mark the end of those aspirations to land players of that quality.

"He knows he is in a strong bargaining position because his stock has risen so fast".

Signing a new centre-back remains a priority and, as well as De Ligt, they have been linked with the likes of Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly and Bayern Munich's Niklas Sule. "He's one of the most in demand stars on the planet".

Who should De Ligt join this summer?
