I'm so glad the iPad mini isn't dead

All-new iPad Air and iPad mini deliver dramatic power and capability

Apple finally releases updated iPad Mini, but comes with the same-old boring design

The iPad Air, on its part, borrows numerous outstanding features from the iPad Pro, including a similar, 10.5-inch screen with True Tone, a thin and lightweight design, and top-tier performance with the latest Apple A12 chip at a much more affordable, $500 price. Struggling to deliver growth in the smartphone market Apple has turned their attention to their iPads, with the introduction of a new mid-tier iPad with a larger screen. The new processor is nearly three times as fast in Geekbench as the A8 found in that device.

Alongside these new devices, Apple has released a Smart Cover and Leather Smart Cover for the iPad Air, and a Smart Cover for the iPad mini. The new iPad mini can be ordered from Apple's website today, and is available in the same silver, space gray, and gold finishes and 64 GB and 256 GB capacities as the iPad Air. The new Air, which starts at $499, sports a 10.5 inch, 2224 x 1668 display, an 8MP camera, support for the Pencil, and up to 256 GB of storage. Like the entry-level iPad model, the iPad Air retains a classic home button with Touch ID, and support for the first-generation Apple Pencil, but it adds to those features a larger display, a modern CPU, Smart Keyboard support, and more.

The new iPad Air has a brand new 10.5-inch Retina display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. And the new iPad mini boasts the highest pixel density of any iPad. GST for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.

Apple also introduced a leather version for the third-generation iPad Air.
