As teams prepare for the 2019 NFL Draft, no franchise needs to "win" more than the Seahawks' division rival, the Arizona Cardinals, who own the No. 1 overall selection.
Earlier this week, NFL Draft analyst Louis Riddick told ABC15 he thinks it's "more probable than not" that the Cardinals will trade Rosen and draft Murray.
After a few quiet weeks, it appears the noise regarding Arizona drafting Murray only one year after picking quarterback Josh Rosen No. 10 overall has returned. But they also have a new coach in Kliff Kingsbury, who is familiar with Murray.
After Rosen got his Instagram in order on Monday, eagle-eyed fans noticed the tenth overall pick in last year's draft had scrubbed all traces of the Cardinals from his Instagram feed, sans a follow to their account.
Then Murray tipped his hand Friday that the Cards would be among the teams interviewing him, despite them already having a first-round quarterback.
Cardinals general manager Steve Keim was asked on Wednesday if Rosen was the Cardinals' quarterback going forward. "I have a great relationship with him", Murray said at the Combine in Indianapolis on Friday.
Murray said he's confident he'd be able to slide right in to Kingsbury's pass-heavy offensive system that he's expected to implement in Arizona. According to a report from Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, the team has turned its focus to former Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray.
What Mayfield did a year ago for Cleveland, the weakness of this QB class in relation to the previous one, and Kingsbury installing a Murray-friendly offense all make for a ideal storm.
Although he didn't perform well in his first National Football League season (2,278 yds, 55.2% completion rate, 11 touchdowns, 14 interceptions), teams will surely consider the lack of talent around him and general mess of the Steve Wilks short era as to why he didn't have a great season. He's always someone I can go to if I needed anything.
