It is a homage to Jean Bugatti's iconic Type 57 SC Atlantic and has been teased on Bugatti's social media pages for the past few weeks.
The original design was much imitated, by Delage and others, and it's echoed in the new auto, especially in the ready-to-pounce stance and the highly distinctive (though somewhat muted compared to the original) dorsal fin that flows longitudinally along the body (and even visually across the windshield, giving a classic split-window effect). The other disappeared over 80 years ago and has never been found. "We have just succeeded in doing so with "La Voiture Noire"," said Bugatti president, Stephan Winkelmann.

With engine power about 20 times a Ford Fiesta, the auto was built to celebrate Bugatti's 110th anniversary.
The two-door auto with its breathtakingly sculpted bodywork is especially elegant thanks to the use of deep black carbon fibre.
Bugatti says this Atlantic homage pays tribute to the company's 110th anniversary; and, curiously, refers to it not as a hyper sports vehicle like it does the Chiron, but as a grand tourer meant for covering great distances. We have just succeeded in doing so with La Voiture Noire'.
Every component of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire has been handcrafted and the complete carbon fibre body has a deep gloss black finish. "At the same time, we are transferring extraordinary technology, aesthetics, and extreme luxury to a new age".
Whenever there is any news or update about Bugatti, it has to be special as the French automobile manufacturer is known to churn distinct high-performance machines.
"Six tailpipes at the rear bear witness to its incredible power and are also a tribute to the 16 cylinders".
Chiron Sport "110 Ans" Edition color scheme is themed around the national flag of France. It's also the pinnacle of performance for the internal combustion engine that graces the expo floor that is also celebrating the birth of electric hypercars. Twenty have been manufactured, and they've all sold for a net price of €3 million ($3.4 million).
