There's a lengthy spell of freezing rain in the forecast for London and the surrounding area, according to a warning from Environment Canada. Much of the freezing rain and sleet is expected to be northwest of the Boston-Providence corridor, it said.
The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory through 10 am Sunday.
There may also be a chance of drizzle Monday morning that may turn to periods of rain in the afternoon. Temperatures drop quickly this evening and down towards -20°C overnight.
Increasing clouds Tuesday with light snow developing toward evening. Mainly freezing rain along with sleet/ice pellets/snow and even some rain is likely.
Kansas City said it will have crews working split shifts Tuesday and Wednesday in anticipation of the freezing rain. Rainfall amounts will be low enough to limit the risk for river flooding, but ice jams could still be possible along the rivers. Icy spots on area roads will be possible early Wednesday morning.
As cold air moves in Wednesday night into Thursday morning any precipitation transitions to snow albeit not much accumulation.
