Giannis thinking of drafting Curry with 1st All-Star pick

In his final season in the NBA, Wade will get to play in his final All-Star Game, though, thanks to commissioner Adam Silver's special invitation Friday for the three-time champion guard and Nowitzki, a former champion in his own right. They'll be joined in the Team LeBron starting five by Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.

LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo made National Basketball Association history Thursday night as they drafted their teams for the upcoming All-Star Game for all the world to see on TNT.

The very first pick of the draft was the Warriors' Kevin Durant and James confirmed to TNT's Ernie Johnson that it was the second year in a row he'd kicked off the proceedings with that selection. "I'm going with Dirk - I'm just kidding", he said with a hearty guffaw.

"Isn't that tampering?" Antetokounmpo asked with a smile, provoking laughter from James and the "NBA on TNT" hosts who were commenting on the draft. James pulled a fast one on fans, pretending to select Nowitzki before eventually going with his longtime friend.

"Tampering rules do not apply on All-Star Weekend", James replied with a chuckle.

LeBron kicked off the the fun draft by picking Kevin Durant.

Upon wrapping up their selections, though, LeBron James proposed a deal to Giannis Antetokounmpo, offering to send Russell Westbrook to Team Giannis in exchange for Ben Simmons.

Giannis Antetokounmpo thinks he might take Stephen Curry with his first pick in the NBA All-Star draft. Antetokounmpo drafted Ben Simmons, much to James' dismay, but they agreed to work out a trade after the draft was complete. He then proceeded to add some global flavor between his picks of Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic and Philadelphia 76ers maestro Ben Simmons, all first-time All-Stars as well.

"I'm going to enjoy it", Wade said.
