CES 2019: Nvidia RTX 2060 is here, it's faster than a GTX 1070Ti and costs just $349

The NVIDIA RTX 2060 will be priced at $349 and be available globally starting January 15.

"The RTX 2060 features a major upgrade of the core streaming multiprocessor to more efficiently handle the compute-heavy workloads of modern games".

NVIDIA will also begin supporting VESA Adaptive-Sync monitors in a future driver update.

Tech giants Nvidia has uncovered their spanking new video card, the GeForce RTX 2060, which they revealed during the live press conference of CES 2019.

In recent months, NVIDIA has also been boasting its ray-tracing technology that can provide more realistic lighting in games.

Nvidia demonstrated the RTX 2060 running an impressive Battlefield V demo, which used ray tracing to showcase how the GPU can make shadows, lights and reflections look incredibly true to life. It's 60 percent faster on current titles than the prior-generation GTX 1060, NVIDIA's most popular GPU, and it beats the gameplay of the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. Mr. Huang went on to discuss DLSS, which stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling, which in effect, brings in a cleaner image with a minimal performance loss.

The company has officially announced that the first laptops with RTX GPUs will make debut on January 29 on the machines from the makers such as Asus, Acer, Dell, Gigabyte, Lenovo, HP, Samsung, MSI and others. However, the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 options will be Max-Q, which is essentially required for such a thin, compact gaming laptop.

One of the missing pieces in the GeForce RTX puzzle, Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card family is created to bring the high-priced Turing architecture to a wider market.

"Next-gen gaming starts today for tens of millions of gamers everywhere", said Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang. The new graphics cards - RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti from Nvidia are designed for high-end gaming PCs. As a result, you can expect to enjoy a demanding, visually rich game like Battlefield V at over 60 frames per second at 2560 x 1440 on the RTX 2060.
