Netflix revealed the debut date with a new teaser video that aptly fits the New Year, leading the kids from Hawkins, Indiana into 1985 where the new tagline (and accompanying poster) say that "One Summer Can Change Everything".
It includes footage from Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve from the year in question.
We'll keep you posted on when one or more genius level eggheads have figured out what all the Easter eggs mean.
These phrases were parts of a secret message that was hidden in Morse code - the communication form utilized by Eleven in last season -in a recently released Stranger Things companion book.
Get ready for a odd new year: Netflix has announced the premiere date for Stranger Things Season 3, which will be released on July 4, 2019.
July 4th couldn't come sooner.
"We're thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out", Ross Duffer told Vulture past year. As the countdown begins and the ball begins to drop, the video is interspersed with technological glitches before it cuts to a computer screen with command logs from Lynx Corp reading "when blue and yellow meet in the west" and "SilverCatFeeds".
The news was announced on Twitter just as the clocks turned over to the new year on Monday night and we already love this year more than 2018. The past two seasons have followed Mike, Eleven, and the others during preceding falls and winters, so the new summer timeline will be a change of pace. Let us know in the comments.
