He's disputing the line about corroborating evidence taken from Trump Org emails, texts, etc.
"Listen, if Mueller does have multiple sources confirming Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress, then we need to know this ASAP". Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who heads of the House's judiciary panel.
This comment did not specify which parts of the report were inaccurate. "The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russian Federation is among the most serious to date", he wrote.
"We've never seen this much contact between a presidential campaign and a foreign entity like Russia", Warner said.
Cohen had told the two committees that the Moscow project talks ended in January 2016, when in fact, as he later admitted, they went on at least six months longer, to June 2016 when Trump had already secured the Republican nomination for president. "The @HouseJudiciary Committee's job is to get to the bottom of it, and we will do that work", the New York Democrat wrote on Twitter.
Buzzfeed dropped a bombshell article on Thursday evening that surfaced allegations that President Donald Trump had instructed his former attorney Michael Cohen to lie under oath-an allegation that if true would amount to obstruction of justice.
Trump seized on the statement from Mueller's office, writing, "Remember it was Buzzfeed that released the totally discredited 'Dossier", paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats (as opposition research), on which the entire Russian probe is based!
His tweet came in response to a rare statement from Mueller's office, which said: "BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the special counsel's office, and characterisation of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's congressional testimony are not accurate".
As of 10:19 p.m. EST, Buzzfeed finally switched its story for a report on a deadly pipeline explosion in Tlahuelilpan, Mexico.
BuzzFeed says it stands by its reporting but is "working to determine what exactly" special counsel Robert Mueller's office is disputing about its story on President Donald Trump and his former lawyer Michael Cohen.
Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, says any suggestion the president had Cohen lie is false. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders called the allegation "absolutely ridiculous".
Giuliani noted that Cohen had pleaded guilty to lying and quoted federal prosecutors in NY who chastised him for a "pattern of lies and dishonesty over an extended period of time". He called on Mueller "to make clear what he's disputing".
"Today's claims are just more made-up lies born of Michael Cohen's malice and desperation", Giuliani said in a statement.
It came two months after Cohen pleaded guilty in a NY court to making "false, fictitious and fraudulent" written testimony to the House and Senate intelligence committees in August 2017 in connection with the Moscow project. But the president's attorney has also addressed this. He was sentenced to three years in prison for crimes that included arranging the payment of hush money to hide his boss' alleged sexual affairs, telling a judge that he agreed time and again to cover up Trump's "dirty deeds" out of "blind loyalty".
Cohen was the president's right-hand man for years at the Trump Organization, the umbrella company, often relied upon to quietly fix hard problems and negotiate deals for the real estate mogul.
