Arsenal are the favourites to sign Suarez on loan, with multiple outlets suggesting a potential permanent deal could be agreed in the summer when the north London side can afford the purchase.
The size of the task at hand for the Spaniard has become visible in recent weeks though with Arsenal losing touch of the top four and news that they can only make loan signings this month.
Asked about the speculation surrounding Ozil at a media conference on Thursday, the Gunners boss said: "I am not thinking about that". "The club is working for different possibilities but it is not easy".
Ahead of the match, Emery insisted there is no issue over Ozil's form or lack of match time.
He said: "They are private conversations".
Spain global Suarez - who played under the former PSG boss during a loan spell with Sevilla - has been disappointed with his lack of playing time and expressed that frustration after scoring a brace in Barca's 4-1 win over Cultural Leonsa in December.
Now I am not sure how much of that was a mirage - certainly in the last few years of Wenger's reign.
"My relationship with him for transfers in the last two or three weeks, we are speaking about that".
"I want every player to be okay for every match and he is the same".
"We are looking, the club is working with the possibility to loan players and if we can take for helping us in a different position on the team, then maybe we can". I work to play, if I do not play we'll see. "I don't want to say to you what these conversations are".
Arsenal return to action on Saturday evening, welcoming fourth-placed Chelsea to the Emirates.
