Princess Nokia takes a moment to point out that she thinks that she may have been ripped off and Ariana Grande may have gotten uncredited inspiration from her. Where you'd usually see rappers in gold chains surrounded by scantily clad dancers, you see Ariana and her all-girl posse in a surreal world where it's hard to even imagine the existence of man. Because that sound really familiar to me. "Hmm...sounds about white", she said.
She then went on to blast out her own song Mine from her 1992 Deluxe mixtape, and trolled fans by adding: 'Ain't that the lil song I made about brown women and their hair?
In "7 Rings", Grande sings: "My wrist, stop watchin', my neck is flossin' / Make big deposits, my gloss is poppin' / You like my hair?"
Some listeners have noted that Grande appears to be intentionally drawing from a large swath of inspirations - possibly including Princess Nokia. The song sampled "My Favorite Things" from the hit film "Sounds of Music".
The song was inspired by the time Grande spontaneously bought seven diamond rings for herself and six friends.
Neither representatives for Nokia nor Grande immediately responded to INSIDER's request for comment.
