Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal wedding ceremonies start

The wedding of Isha, the daughter of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, and Anand, the son of Ajay and Swati Piramal, will take place on December 12 in Mumbai.

In the press statement announcing Isha and Anand's wedding, the Ambanis and Piramals said, "During the weekend prior to the wedding, the Ambani and Piramal families will host their friends and family in Udaipur, where they are partnering with artisans and craftsmen to integrate local culture and traditions into the festivities".

And while we are still reeling from the unimaginable scale of opulence, the spotlight is now on Reliance heiress Isha Ambani and industrialist Anand Piramal, whose wedding is sure to trump even the grandest and most expensive shaadi of year.

Guests for the celebrations, which will bring together two of India's most influential families, have access to an app mapping out the activities, which include a private concert by Beyonce.

Disha Patani, who flew to Udaipur on Sunday, shared a selfie with veteran actress Rekha, who also received an invite from the Ambanis. Reportedly, special customs and immigration counters have also been set up at the airport and will be functional for the next five days.

Among other prominent persons to have reached the city are Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, actor Anil Kapoor and filmmaker David Dhawan.

Indian media have speculated that the guest list includes former U.S. President Bill Clinton, along with his wife and Democratic candidate in the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton.

After Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas and Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh's gorgeous weddings in Jodhpur and Lake Como, respectively, we've been eagerly awaiting the Ambani wedding.

Many in India, where millions live in dire poverty, have closely followed the preparations, including the Ivy League-graduate couple's engagement at the luxury Villa D'Este hotel on Italy's Lake Como, attended by more than 600 guests, and featuring a private performance by singer John Legend.
