Get ready for the holiday: What's open on Thanksgiving, Black Friday?

The countdown is on for one of the biggest shopping days of the year: Black Friday.

Social media is awash with memes, outrage and excitement today as Black Friday frenzy sweeps the UK.

Dollar General stores are often open on Thanksgiving day, although their hours may vary from normal hours.

Retail aggregator LovetheSales.com, which tracks prices and discounts, said there were 26% more deals on offer this year compared with 2017, and noted that chains such as Homebase, Whistles and FatFace had begun offering Black Friday deals again.

Bass Pro Shops purchased Cabela's previous year, and most Cabela's stores open on Thanksgiving at 8 a.m., though its special Thanksgiving and Black Friday deals go live in-store on Wednesday, November 21.

The biggest line by 5 p.m.in the Tampa area may have been the one at the Citrus Park Best Buy.

Plus, shopping Black Friday might actually be fun.

Other shoppers said they'd rather avoid the holiday crowds.

"The TV that my son asked for on my Christmas list", said another shopper.

"We're happy with this, this is an impulse buy. It isn't until the new year when we see more detail on complete holiday sales numbers that we get a sense of how retailers have traded", said Neil Saunders, managing director of retail at Global Data. "I'm trying to get a $500 off coupon". "They've been unloading trucks nonstop for the past month or so".

The Best Buy stores open at 5 pm for Black Friday.

Gone this year were a pair of store that over the decades had become Lima holiday shopping staples.

"We have a lot of the same deals that are available online". "We prepare for this thing all year long, to tell you the truth". Economists at Oxford Economics said Wednesday's sentiment report, "suggests that recent equity market volatility is weighing on sentiment for those who own a large majority of stocks, while wage gains are emboldening those in the lower echelons of the income distribution". "It's insane but it's really fun because it's the holidays and you get to see a lot of people", said a Target employee. It's kind of a tradition.

Walmart introduced a digital map on its mobile app to make it easier for shoppers to find an item's exact location in the store.

And believe it or not, employees at both stores have no problem cutting their Thanksgiving short to start rolling out the bargains.
