Bryant is joining a flawless situation for him to get his career back on track.

A few members of the Cowboys addressed Dez Bryant's decision to sign with the New Orleans Saints (it will be official on Thursday) after the team's practice on Wednesday. Bryant's salary was not immediately known.

The Saints, sitting at 7-1 atop the NFC South, will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 10.

Meredith, 26, had been healthy for most of this season.

The Saints are rolling the dice a bit that Bryant will be a good locker room fit with a team that is on such a good run. And they acquired cornerback Eli Apple from the Giants before the trade deadline by giving up their fourth- and seventh-round picks. Just two years ago New Orleans finished top three in all of these categories, and now that they have.

It's hard to argue that there's a better landing spot in the National Football League than this for Bryant.

Last season was Bryant's best since he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 TDs in 2014, which at the time was his third consecutive season with at least 1,200 yards receiving. And the Cowboys were ultimately ready to move on from what executive vice president Stephen Jones described as a "fiery" personality that could sometimes be a "distraction".

Bryant said in a tweet that was later deleted that he was being used as a "scapegoat" and that the team's issue was "garbage ass playcalling".

Soon after, Bryant tweeted several times that he holds no bitterness or anger toward the Cowboys.

The Dez Bryant-Dallas Cowboys reunion that many were hoping to see simply never worked out.

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott said Wednesday that it will be "exciting" to play against Bryant. You're getting a very passionate individual. From the people who love this game, who've played, they can understand that about it being somewhat harder for other people to figure that out.

"Dez is a great player".

Added Cowboys coach Jason Garrett: "I'm happy he has an opportunity to go play and finish the right way, it will be a great environment for him to go out and make an impact". "I also don't know what's transpired with him personally since that situation. I know he'll help their team".

Before the injury, Meredith led the Bears with 66 receptions, 888 yards and four touchdowns in 2016. "It was more so knowing a guy like that is out there, and there might come a time when we could need a guy like that". He openly flirted with the Patriots, though it's unclear if New England was crushing on him, too.

Bryant ended his eight-year career with Dallas as the franchise's all-time leader in receiving touchdowns with 73.
