Rudiger: 'For me to get a yellow card- that's a joke'

Chelsea hosted Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday looking to keep pace with Liverpool, who beat Fulham earlier, and Manchester City ahead of their Manchester derby.

Everton boss Marco Silva dismissed the incident at his post-match media conference. How we as players think about football, that is also his way of thinking. The Toffees kept the spaces between the midfield and defence tight, making it really hard for the likes of N'Golo Kante and Jorginho to find Hazard and the Belgian was largely ineffective.

Everton set up to be compact, with Sigurdsson crucial in eliminating the space for Jorginho - who was perhaps fortunate to escape with just a booking for a high lunge on the Iceland worldwide - to operate, forcing Chelsea into a more direct approach. I understand how some of them play, so that could be an advantage for me.

Liverpool won against Fulham and Manchester City defeated rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

"I am not happy with being kicked to be fair but it's part of football".

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger considers the yellow card he was shown after being headbutted by Everton midfielder Bernard to be "a joke".

However, Kevin Friend still managed to hand out six yellow cards, give inconsistent, harsh free-kicks for both sides and generally frustrated both sets of supporters.

"The referee tries to do his job and I try to do mine".

Chelsea have always seemed to find a way to win so far under Sarri, but despite dominating possession and creating plenty of opportunities in the second half, the Blues' attempts proved fruitless, and with such congestion at the top, a win on Sunday could well have been crucial.

A 0-0 draw certainly wasn't the result that Maurizio Sarri and his Chelsea players wanted from this result.

Hazard will hope to lead Chelsea to victory when they tackle Tottenham Hotspur on November 24 in the Premier League.
