"I believe it's going to spark within you the desire to think about your own becoming", Winfrey, who on Monday told The Associated Press in a statement that she had selected "Becoming" for her book club.

On Sunday, the 54-year-old former first lady spoke to Robin Roberts ahead of the release of her new book, Becoming, which is due out November 13.

"I don't know what to tell you", she said.

The 54-year-old former First lady of United States revealed that she had to settle for the IVF, as she had trouble getting pregnant; and when she finally became pregnant, she suffered a miscarriage.

'We sit in our own pain, thinking that somehow we're broken.

She said it was at that point she and husband Barack realized: 'We had to do IVF'.

On her miscarriage, she mentioned how it had crippled her to open up about it since she felt like couples do not usually discuss it.

Before Michelle Obama kicks off her stadium-sized book tour in Chicago, she'll make an appearance even closer to home.

In the memoir, Michelle also details the early days of her relationship with her husband, including their first kiss.

She also acknowledged that she would never forgive Donald and Melania Trump for peddling the racist "birther" campaign against her husband.

As he left for Paris Friday, Trump chose not to respond to the former first lady, telling reporters, "Oh, I guess she wrote a book". She had a miscarriage and, later, the couple conceived their two daughters through IVF treatments.

Mrs Obama writes that they met with a counsellor "a handful of times", and she came to realise that she was more "in charge" of her happiness than she had realised. "He wasn't playing games", she said. "I'll feel good about it". Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family's safety at risk.

Trump suggested Obama was not born in the US but on foreign soil - his father was Kenyan.

She also declined to offer her thoughts about how she thinks Melania Trump is doing as current first lady. "She got paid a lot of money to write a book and they always insisted you come up with controversial".

Obama also noted that when she saw the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape she was disgusted and worked to "channeled my fury into words".

She expresses disbelief over how so many American women would choose a "misogynist" over Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton, "an exceptionally qualified female candidate".
