Twitter had some thoughts to the Kevin Durant-Draymond Green exchange and Green's turnover in their loss to LA.
Now just about every National Basketball Association insider - Chris Haynes, Woj, Shams - is reporting that Draymond is out tonight against the Hawks; Sam Amick says this was Steve Kerr's decision and Woj adds that Green will be sitting without pay. Scene described as one of most intense of this G-State era.
In one of the more weird stories in this era of Warriors basketball, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant got into a heated discussion after a late-game turnover cost the Warriors a shot at winning in regulation.
Durant was visibly upset when Green gathered a defensive rebound in the final moments of a tie game and dribbled the ball up the court before losing control without a shot.
The Golden State Warriors were a bit shorthanded Tuesday night in their home game against the visiting Atlanta Hawks, which explains why young big man Damian Jones had an extended run on the floor. It was noted earlier in the day that one of Green's barbs directed at Durant surrounded the two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP's pending free agency.
Green was forceful in his defense of himself, which helped to escalate the volume and intensity within the room, sources said. Backup point guard Shaun Livingston, however, attempted to minimize the incident.
Durant, who also jumped for the rebound, was seen calling for the ball and appeared upset at the conclusion of the play. "Every team I've ben on, things have happened. But it was good to see some fire, some emotion".
