Ariana Grande performed her latest single "thank u, next" for the first time on Ellen and her "First Wives Club" dance routine saw her nearly fall down.
She helped organise the One Love Manchester concert a year ago, raising more than $23 million for victims of the Manchester bombing.
However others felt they could relate to her visual depiction of anxiety, including shots of a cloud encompassing her head, Ariana walking in slow motion through a fast-moving room, and then walking through a frozen room.
The rapper was found dead at 26 in his Studio City, California home on September 7 in what authorities suspect to be a drug overdose.
To her credit, Grande doesn't slam Davidson or any of her exes on the track.
TMZ reported the pair had not done any of the actual work in planning a wedding prior to their split.
By Wednesday morning, the full clip of Ariana's "Thank U, Next" performance was released ahead of that day's episode of Ellen. "He didn't find out about Ariana's song until later, and that didn't change what he said on 'Weekend Update'".
He added at the end: 'I'm still a good song, though'.
"We were supposed to come down?" the singer asked. I've grown up a lot'.
All of this is addressed in the song, naturally, and on Ellen, Ari's poise and control make her delivery of the song an event.
So far in Ariana's career, she's held the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart three times and her August album release Sweetener pulled in the largest streaming numbers by a female pop album ever.
In the video, Mac can be seen taking part in a Q&A with his fans while Ariana's track plays in the background.
