That's more than eight stories tall, for reference.

Ocala and Gainesville have a 5 percent chance of receiving tropical storm force wind and areas from about Lake City to Jacksonville have a 10 percent chance, National Hurricane Weather Service officials said.

The storm is located about 1,350 miles south-southwest of the Azores, and it is moving north-northwest at 14 mph.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Helene will move away from Cabo Verde Islands into the open waters of the central Atlantic through the week, posing no direct threat to land.

The government of the Netherlands has discontinued the Tropical Storm Watch for Saba and St. Eustatius.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 60 miles per hour (95 km/h) with higher gusts.

Forecasters say the center of Florence will move over the southwestern Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda and the Bahamas on Wednesday, and approach the coast of the Carolinas in the hurricane warning area on Thursday and Friday.

"A turn toward the north and northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next few days", according to the agency.

The Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic states are bracing for Hurricane Florence, a Category 4 storm which is teetering on becoming stronger before landfall later this week.

"We can not stress this enough, Florence poses a very serious threat to people who live far away from the coast", said a National Weather Service tweet late Tuesday.

Helene is now 2,065km south-southwest of the Azores in the Atlantic and Met Éireann said the storm would approach the south coast by Tuesday.

Florence, however, continues to threaten the east coast as a fierce storm that could trigger flooding as far south as Georgia. The storm is moving toward the west-southwest near 6 miles per hour (9 km/h).

In its yellow weather warning, the Met Office said adverse weather conditions could cause public transport disruption, road closures, injuries from large waves and power cuts.
