Heather Locklear was arrested Sunday in California

Police sources told TMZ that Heather was "heavily intoxicated" when a family member called 911.

Former Melrose Place star Heather Locklear was arrested again on Sunday night for an incident where she allegedly punched a police officer and kicked an emergency medical technician at her southern California home.

Ventura County Sheriff's Captain Garo Kuredjian said Locklear was released from jail overnight after posting $20,000 bail.

She is now being held on $20,000 bail. News. Officers tried to separate her from the group, at which point she assaulted a deputy, leading to her arrest. During their examination, police said she kicked the EMT assisting her.

From there, she immediately checked in to a treatment facility, a person close to Locklear said.

Police sources say that before Heather Locklear was taken into custody for the psych hold last week, she got into a public fight with her fiance in a parking lot near her Westlake home. It was then that Locklear hit a deputy, authorities claim. When authorities arrived, she allegedly began to attack the officer.

In February, she was arrested in her home under similar circumstances and charged with four misdemeanor counts of battery on an officer.

She was fined $900 (£678) and sentenced to three years' informal probation after pleading guilty to reckless driving. "She is taking it one day at a time".

Back on February 25, Heather was arrested for domestic violence and assaulting a police officer following an altercation with her boyfriend.

Just last week, the actress was hospitalized after allegedly threatening to kill herself.
